- Abstract
J.C.C. Bradfield, the engineer and planner, was involved in a staggering number of fields of expertise for one man. At the New South Wales Public Works Department he was at various times required to design roads, bridges, dams, irrigation and drainage works, and railways and tramways. His most notable work was the design and supervision of construction of a transport system for Sydney, including the City railway, the Harbour Bridge and connecting roads.
This book presents the achievements and the character of the man who spent his retirement years designing the Story Bridge in Brisbane and planning an ambitious scheme to irrigate and populate Central Australia.
