- Abstract
The south coast mines, New South Wales, in 1915 yielded 2,261,395 tons, which was shipped at privately owned jetties or railed to the various destinations, but as the accommodation for large ocean-going vessels was unsuitable, a belt conveying plant was agreed upon in lieu of a deep water jetty. The length of the belt is 1400 ft. An instance is given of 1780 tons of coal being loaded into one vessel in about three hours. Particulars are published of the plant, speed of loading, power, etc.
