A digest is given of the recent paper read by Mr. C. Catani, chief engineer of the Victorian state public works department, on the method of reclaiming the Koo-wee-rup swamp land. The machine employed in excavating the drains was purchased abroad; the cost on 11 months' work averaged 5d. a yard.

The OHRM has been maintained by Gavan McCarthy since 2020.
