- Abstract
This is a recent system for dealing with storm-water drainage and has been a rival of the usual practice of laying concrete (precast or in situ), earthenware or brick drains. Trenches are prepared to the exact size of the outside perimeter of the pipe; the bottom is placed true to lines and levels and to the requisite thickness; the core is then placed, and the concrete poured around, and the inner surface finished to the rubber of the core or falsework. Interesting illustrations and details are supplied. The Australian rights to the process are held by Concreters Ltd., Sydney, of which Mr. J. H. Tonkin, formerly engineer of Mosman, N.S.W., is the manager.
