- Abstract
This paper deals with the basic importance of roads in planning and re-planning. It emphasizes planning's breadth of scope, and reviews the engineer's part in this new field. It quotes examples in Victoria of fitting new roads into the plan and of fitting the plan around existing roads in rural, urban and metropolitan localities. The various means of using existing Victorian statutes to widen roads or provide for new roads will be examined, together with the need for provision for "limited access" roads in the future.
