Abstract

Ingenious and uncommon sets of points may be seen in the St. Kilda and Port Melbourne lines-of-way, just beyond the Flinders street platform, and inquiries concerning them brought to light an interesting piece of Victorian railway history. An original invention by Mr. F. K. Esling solved the problems of tight curves and points.
