- Abstract
The intersection of the corners of Flinders and Swanston Streets, Melbourne, which is adjacent to the principal entrances to the Flinders Street and Princes Bridge railway stations, is one of the main arteries for traffic in the city. At this crossing heavy traffic is continuous by the four ways; the strict control exercised by the authorities alone prevents accidents. Improvement schemes are legion. Mr. F. K. Esling, engineer in the Victorian railways, has made a suggestion which, if carried out, would considerably relieve the congestion of traffic.
