Abstract

Abstract

This 'snapshot' looks at tide gauges, survey datums, flagstaffs, and timeballs and the science story behind them. Using a case study of the Melbourne / Williamstown tide gauge, survey datums, flagstaffs, and timeball, we explore how well the science heritage is recognised, protected, and interpreted.
