On the 1st December 1987 MRL was reorganised as part of the restructuring of the DSTO undertaken by the Chief Defence Scientist, Henry d'Assumpcao under the direction and approval of the Minister of Defence Science and
Personnel, Ros Kelly MP. Changes of function have taken place involving both deletions and additions and considerable internal reorganisation has occurred. The structure and senior staffing of the new MRL with branches in four States is described in this booklet.
