Discussion of a letter from Professor Arthur Rücker to Professor A Liversidge. Rücker had noticed during the magnetic survey of the United Kingdom that in some places there was a definite local effect by magnetic rocks on the polarity of a compass. He asked whether such effects were observable in Australia.
