- Abstract
Various methods have been devised for obtaining a criterion of the suitability of aggregates for road construction, but the greatest satisfaction and closest agreement with service behaviour appears to be derived from the Los Angeles abrasion test, devised by the staff of the Los Angeles city engineer's office in 1916. The nature of, and equipment for, this test are here described, and the author gives some interesting results of tests carried out by the Country Roads Boord of Victoria on Victorian aggregates.
