Abstract: In this part of his article, Mr. Mercer discusses distribution, placing and curing, and refers to modern applications of concrete for structural purposes, in roadmaking and as a material for architectural expression. In dealing with formwork, he expresses the opinion that the future trend will be towards the use of thin strong moulds which can be left in place as part of the finished structure.
