- Abstract
No attempt is made in this paper to show when and why scientific design of concrete mixes is economically essential. It is assumed that the desirability of using modern methods in many instances is sufficient reason for collecting and comparing the various theories for proportioning concrete. The second part of the paper is devoted to the results of tests bearing on these theories carried out in the Civil Engineering laboratories of the Peter Nicol Russell School of Engineering, University of Sydney.
