Abstract

The paper discusses details of the welded design of the new Bridgewater Bridge, Tasmania. Attention is confined mainly to the development of new types of connexions and make-ups of members for the design of the 157 ft. 6 in. trusses forming part of the bridge. Particular attention is paid to the importance of fatigue as affecting welded design.
