- Abstract
The Historic Bridges Study has been undertaken in several stages for the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) with major funding from VicRoads and VicTrack together with further financial assistance from Heritage Victoria. The purpose of this study is to identify historic masonry road and masonry, metal and concrete rail bridges of cultural significance in Victoria and assess them for future preservation and study and to classify these bridges according to categories of significance, whether at state, regional or local level. The study provides guidance for future management and for undertaking works affecting significant masonry road and masonry, metal and concrete rail bridges.
