Assessment of metal road bridges of historical significance in Victoria. Stage One established the parameters and criteria for a thorough assessment of historic metal road bridges in Victoria and included a thematic study of the history of construction of metal road bridges in Victoria, development of criteria for the assessment of the heritage significance of metal road bridges, a preliminary survey of all metal road bridges of potential cultural significance, and sample detailed assessments of nine bridges. Stage Two (which is covered by the present report) has involved the significance assessment and documentation of the remaining bridges that were identified to be of potential cultural significance in the Stage One survey.
