Abstract

This paper presents a detailed study of the factors influencing the growth or decline of population and the probable effect of these factors on the future population of Melbourne.
It is based on a report submitted by the author to the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works, in connection with the planning of extensions to the sewerage system of that city.
