Abstract

The Country Roads Board was the State Government authority responsible for the construction and maintenance of main roads in Victoria between 1913 and 1983. In 1983 it became the Road Construction Authority and in 1989 it merged with the Road Traffic Authority to become VicRoads.

David Jellie, who worked for over 30 years for the CRB and Vic Roads, will talk on the history of the road construction authority since its inception in 1913. What it's initial role was, what it achieved and the present day role of Vic Roads.
