- Abstract
The education and training of the young engineer in Australia and New Zealand has been strongly influenced by British and other practice and experience, and yet has evolved in a distinctive way. Here some of those influences are discussed, and the local distinctive aspects related, particularly in the context of some of the individual engineers and educators who contributed to the development of academic engineering in Australasia.
