- Abstract
This paper gives a brief description of a number of typical projects undertaken by a Local Government Engineer where heritage issues need to be addressed. The range of projects include the restoration of sandstone kerning and guttering, drainage structures, the retention of disused buildings, or part thereof, such as sandstone footings and old coastal gun emplacements in park development programmes. The importance of recognising heritage issues in Local Government Engineering practice is appraised.
