Abstract

When adopting a motto the New Zealand Institution of Engineers (now the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand) drew from the examples set by its foundation members and 'Learning Service Achievement' became part of the Institution's heritage. This paper considers the professional careers of its founders and eight other long deceased members who personified learning.
