    Details

This theme covers the botanists, ecologists, geneticists and environment researchers who have focused on sustainability and the relationship between plants and their environment, in natural and managed ecosystems.

Areas of research include: nutrition processes and yield; water use by trees; the roles of bushfires upon eucalypt forests; fire and forest management; and the development of management plans for endangered species. Some botanists have specialised in particular species of eucalypts in their research while others have looked at larger ecosystems. People and organisations with a role in conservation and preservation, such as the establishment of forest protection and management policies, are also included.
