Summary

Walter Stamm was an engineer much of whose career was spent in manufacturing companies in South Australia, including Simpson Pope where he became General Manager of the Electric Motor Division, and John Shearer where he was General Manager. He held executive positions in the Institution of Engineers, Australia, and the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. In retirement Stamm co-founded the consultancy firm Bishop Stamm associates, and served as a Member of the Committee on Manufacturing Technology for the Prime Minister's Science Council.
