Summary

In 2017 the Department of Parks and Wildlife (2013 - 2017) was amalgamated with the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, Zoological Parks Authority and the Rottnest Island Authority resulting in the creation of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (2017 - ). The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (2017 - ) plays a significant role in Western Australian conservation science, and the management of Western Australia's parks and marine reserves.
