His work has included high level appointments at organisations and institutions such as the National Key Centre in Economic Geology, Great Central Mines Ltd, Range River Gold, The University of Melbourne, and a period as Chief of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) Division of Exploration and Mining from 2001 to 2004.
