Summary

David Roy (Dave) Hocking was responsible for surveying and mapping much of Australia during his thirty-seven years service with the Commonwealth Government Department of National Mapping (NATMAP). He also served on many industry bodies and was Australia's representative at many major international congresses and committees. After his retirement from the Department in 1985 Hocking joined the Association of Aerial Surveyors, Australia Inc. (AASA). He gave a further twelve years service there and became executive director of AASA.
