Description

1985 A G M Michell Address of the College of Mechanical Engineers, Institution of Engineers Australia.

Abstract

In spite of the projection of the recipient of this year's Michell award, our primary task is to commemorate that remarkable Australian, George Michell. Previous recipients of the Award have pointed to different facets of his prodigious career. I would like to start that way also and then go on to make a few observations on the profession in this country - from the particular perspective of my present post.
